Honoring Our Work In The Community

ree

October 1, 2024, the City of Carson's Mayor (Lula Davis-Holmes) acknowledged their appreciation for our work and presents a proclamation to Antoinette Greer (Co-founder and CEO). This kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness Month also known as Breast Cancer Action Month to many survivors, as it presents an extended opportunity for our reach. While we are aware 24/7 we must continue to take action for better outcomes.

Mayor Pro Tem and other council members surround Antoinette and Mayor Davis-Holmes (Lt) during the presentation.. Antoinette takes this opportunity to share more of what we do for survivors, vulnerable and lay populations to advance health equity, research and survivorship as a whole. It takes a village. The grassroots organization celebrates eighteen years as My Sister My Friend Breast Cancer Support and over 20 years in the business of supporting women and families battling breast cancer throughout Los Angeles County. Closing with telling the City of Carson "thanks for acknowledging our work" and "We See You Too".

Our Vision

"A future where African American women do not bear the unequal burden of breast cancer caused by systemic inequities — but are supported, seen, and served through a culturally responsive lens, with equitable access and care."
