From Awareness To Action!

This month has been eventful, and we've changed awareness into action. Because we share awareness 365 days a year, we move into opportunities to act and further engage our community. We're sharing the highlights of our reach, along with those events that are both education and inspirational we've supported through our Community Partners (The City of Carson). Just in case you missed it, there was something for everyone.

EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS INCLUDED:

  • BRAIN HEALTH - Understanding the Aging Mind: Alzheimer's andMemory Disorders

  • DIABETES - The Roadmap: Understanding the Link Between Diabetes and Gut Health

  • EYE HEALTH - Improving Your Eye Health: The Latest in Cataract Surgery Technology

  • FOOT CARE - Keeping Your Feet Happy

  • GRIEF MANAGEMENT - Managing Grief After the Loss of a Loved One

  • HOME CAREGIVERS - Home Care vs. Home Health Care: - What's the Difference?

  • MENTAL WELLNESS - Empowering Your Mindset/Well-Being to Stress Less & Live More

  • STROKE INTERVENTION - Stroke as a Life Span Disease

We're committed to educating and advocating for the health of our community, especially during this crucial time (healthcare crisis). Nine hundred women attended this health outreach. The mayor and friend LuLa Davis-Holmes is a breast cancer survivor and closes this event with a major survivorship celebration. Shoutout to our volunteers for making us shine. Our Vision

"A future where African American women do not bear the unequal burden of breast cancer caused by systemic inequities — but are supported, seen, and served through a culturally responsive lens, with equitable access and care."
