Abundant Wellness 2024 on the Waterfront was a huge success. We are grateful for all who assisted in supporting the work we do in our community and educational outreach events like these.
We listened, we learned. We laughed, we cried and we danced, to the beat of ancestral drums for our healing. Yes, we opened with prayer and S.H.I.N.E. Musawi ("In the Hands of God") African American Women's Drum Circle. We ate, and we drank apple cider and we shopped our local vendors. Thereafter, we gave gifts. Some trivia wins and others 'Just Because'.
Businesses/Organizations represented at the event either in-person or via sponsorship, some did both. Present with us was Juan Rendon, MD of South Bay Plastic Surgeons,
Deborrah Carter of Sassy Survivor, Annette Nwandu of The W.I.N.G. Foundation, Anthnette Drone and Madision Beckett of Black Women for Wellness (Sponsor), Carla Farley of Carla's Ribbon of Life, Juanita Strong-Matthews of Spring of Hope Grief Counseling, Sonya Adams of Celebrating of Vision, Randell Snyder of Women Guiding Women (Long Beach Memorial), Life is Fortune (Living Benefit Insurance) and of course of partner Women of Color Breast Cancer Survivor's Support Project.
A shout out to our sponsors: The Port of Long Beach, Supervisor Janice Hahn's Office, the Plastic Surgery Foundation, Black Women for Wellness L.A. and Life is Fortune.
We concluded with taking a survivor group photo of all the cancer survivors attendees and you represented this year as always.
