What We Do

Our Programs & Services

*

Peer & Professional Support

All clients/survivors are welcome and may join one of our monthly support groups at any time. Monthly Support Group meetings are held every third Saturday monthly, 1:00 pm at our office. These services are culturally competent, both peer and professionally (social worker) led. For those under the age of age 40, 'Sisters Unite', is our support group for monthly meet-ups online. All services are uniquely designed to meet the needs of treating patients, survivors, caregivers and their families. Meetings are in-person at our office location: 4000 Long Beach Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90807. October's meeting has been replaced with our Abundant Wellness Event Series (October 26, 2024), upcoming dates: November 23, 2024 (Updated - "Friendsgiving" meeting for survivors, family and caregivers) and December 21, 2024.

Health Educational Outreach

Our organization hosts breast health, cancer patient education and other health related outreach (Covid 19, Environmental Health Literacy, Diabetes, research studies and clinical trials education) both virtually and in-person.  Please visit our calendar page for upcoming events. We also host fun fitness events and partner to promote physical activity (weekly dance classes, beach meet ups and etc.).

Community Health Advocate Members Program (C.H.A.M.P.)

This program offers community service opportunities by availing internships for local college and university students residing within our service area. Traditionally, communities of color have been marginalized, receiving inadequate health care and lacking viable resources. This program's design addresses such issues while fostering community engagement, serving to increase health literacy,  access, and connections to culturally competent safety-net resources.
