Long Beach Gives Is Today!

Sep 24
1 min read

Today, September 24, is Long Beach Gives, a citywide day of giving that brings our community together to support the local nonprofit organizations working every day to make Long Beach stronger. Long Beach Gives helps organizations like ours build community support so we can continue providing programs, services, education, outreach, and resources to the people who need them most. At My Sister My Friend Breast Cancer Support, your support helps us continue our work in the community, including:

  • Support Groups and ongoing Survivorship services

  • Treatment Transporation and Co-pay Assistance

  • Next Gen Pink™ breast health education for adolescents

  • Programs addressing mental health, prevention, nutrition and fitness

  • Advocacy, research, clinical trials information and advances in care

This year, we are working to raise $10,000 for our Treatment Transportation Assistance Program and $6,000 for Co-pay Assistance to help patients gain access to the care and treatment they need (direct patient support). HELP US REACH OUR GOAL!

Our Vision

"A future where African American women do not bear the unequal burden of breast cancer caused by systemic inequities — but are supported, seen, and served through a culturally responsive lens, with equitable access and care."
